M.A.C Cutie Eyeshadow Quad

MAC Cutie Eyeshadow Quad (picture taken from Google)

MAC Cutie Eyeshadow Quad (Back)

MAC Quite Cute Cutie Eyeshadow Quad:

Come on, get happy with Eye Quads in fancigul, fun and flattering pastel shades with completely, contagiously cute names like Goody Goody Gumdrop, Boycrazy, Azuki Bean & Moshi Moshi! Say "yes!" to everything adorable!

MAC Moshi Moshi! Eyeshadow
MAC Moshi Moshi! Eyeshadow
Moshi Moshi!: According to MAC this color is a pale white green gold - but to me it looks more of a creamy pale yellow. This color is very pale and you cant really see the green-ness or the yellow-ness of the color. At first I thought it was lustre finish but when I read the back of the quad - IT WAS A FROST :o Its does have silver specks of glitters which will result in fallout. This color can be used for a highlight.

MAC Goody Goody Gum Drop Eyeshadow

MAC Goody Goody Gum Drop Eyeshadow
Goody Goody Gum Drop: Its a toned down cotton candy pink with a pretty sheen to it. It is a satin. As compared to the other colors in the quad this one does have a slightly better pigmentation. Its good for the everyday sweep of color for work, school e.t.c

MAC Boy Crazy Eyeshadow

MAC Boy Crazy Eyeshadow
Boycrazy: It is a pale lavender color with silver shimmer to it. This color was a big disappointment because of its low pigmentation factor. I don't really have pretty lilacs or lavenders in my collection so when I saw this color I had pretty high expectations. This color is so sheer that you really need to pack about 7-8 layers to get a good payoff. It is a lustre finish.

MAC Azuki Bean Eyeshadow

MAC Azuki Bean Eyeshadow
Azuki Bean: This color being the darkest is the most pigmented color in this quad. Its a mid-tone dirty violet. It has a frost finish.

My Thoughts:
In my opinion this quad does have a good selection of pastel shades but the downfall is that they have poor pigmentation. Some even have fallout issues but pigmentation is the biggest problem of this Quad. You really have to pack the color on and on and on to get the shade you want. This quad I would not recommend to people with medium-dark skin tones. I think this would work great on lighter skin tones. The lighter the skin tones the better these colors would appear.

Hope you guys like the review.

Inexpensive Find: Etude Mono Eye-shadow

Hi Guys,
We all know very well how expensive eye shadows can get. If you want the quality you gotta pay the price. I personally spend a lot on make-up and its not like I regret spending the money its just that once in a while I would like to get something of good quality for cheap. So I am always on the search for good quality make-up that I can get for cheap and something that's easily available. Now there are many brands in Pakistan that cost very low but they are not really up to the mark when it comes to quality of the product.
I was shopping the other day when I came across this Etude beauty counter.  Now I have bought products from Etude before but this I saw that they had different packaging so I went and had a look at the products. They had many products but what caught my attention were the mono eye shadows. They had a pretty decent range of 35-40 colors roughly. I am still not sure. The colors of the mono eye shadows were very beautiful and eye catching and they cost only Rs:175/- which was basically a steal.

Eye shadows I bought:

This one is called PP905.

PP905:  Its an eggplant purple with a semi matte finish. It is a very pretty color for a dramatic purple eye. It blends very well and its build-able so you can apply as much as you want to get the look you desire. This does not have a long staying power so use of primer is a must. I would recommend using the Urban Decay Primer Potion or use a same coloured base like Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Ransom.

This one is called GR611.

GR611: Its a semi matte aqua mint green. It reminds me of Blue Hawaiian from The Sleek Curacao Palette. The only difference is that this leans a little more towards the green side. Its again a build-able color and because the staying power is not the best you will have to use a primer.

My Thoughts:
Personally I really like these shadows. They are cheap but have pretty decent pigmentation. They are affordable and easily available. They have a gorgeous range of shades to choose from. Great for beginners. I find tat they do tend to fade away after a few hours so the use of Primer is a must. Other than they are pretty good shadows.

Pros:
Inexpensive.
Good quality.
Easy to find
Good Range of colors

Cons:
Tacky Packaging
Fades away quickly
No shade names.

Hope you found this review helpful.

Urban Decay Book Of Shadows Vol.III Eye shadows Review.

So just recently I purchased the Urban Decay BOS .III.

    BOOK OF SHADOWS VOL. III

It's here, and it will sell out fast! This light-up, pop-up ode to NYC features 16 shadows (including 7 exclusive shades!), and travel sizes of Eyeshadow Primer Potion and two 24/7 Eye Pencils!

Totally obsessed with The Big Apple? So are we (how could anyone NOT be?) Inspired by the glimmering lights and iconic landmarks of New York City, Book of Shadows Vol III features 16 eyeshadows that go way beyond neutrals and brights, including SEVEN NEW shades with names like Loaded, Rockstar and Money. We've also included nine best-sellers in a range of sizzling textures: everything from glitter to shimmer to matte.

This Pallete Contain 16 beautifully pigmented eye shadows. Each eye shadow has its own unique color. Some have been repeated before or are in the permanent line.

    First Row
    The first row consists of:
Perversion: Its a Matte charcoal black. Its has a very soft texture. Its not a very deep black but its good for darkening any look.Part of the permanent line.

Uzi: Its a frosty white color with silver specks of glitter. Its a gorgeous color for inner corners but it does tend to have some fallout. Part of the permanent line.

Loaded: Its a deep forest green with a metallic green sheen to it. Its similar to NARS Rajasthan. This is a new color.

Kush: Its a grassy green. It does have a subtle cool undertone. Similar colors are present in the previous versions of BOS.This is a new color.

    Second Row
    The second row consists of:
Midnight Cowboy Rides Again: Its a champagne color with champagne specks of glitter. Its also has a subtle pink tinge to it. This color does tend to have fallout issues so just to be on the safe side i would recommend applying a sticky base before applying the eye shadow. Part of the permanent line.

Last Call: Its a plum color with red undertones. It has a shimmer finish, Part of the permanent line.

Rockstar: Its a deep eggplant shade with burgandy undertones. Its a shadow version of the 24/7 Eyeliner pencil in Rockstar. This is a new color.

Money: Its a blue-ish silver with a blue-green sheen to it. This is a new color.

    Third Row

The third row consists of :
Haight: Its a bright medium blue with a hint of teal or maybe navy to it. Its a Sephora exclusive shade.

Maui Wowie: Its a toned down gold with specks of gold glitter. It has some fallout issues. Part of the permanent line.

Smog: Its a dark bronze with a frost finish. This shade has also been in the infamous Naked Palette. Part of the permanent line.

Bordello: Its a mauvy pink shade with specks of pink glitter. The color payoff is pretty good. This is a new color.

    Forth Row
    The forth row consists of:
Radium: Its a true blue with a frost finish. This is a good color to have. To top it off it has amazing color payoff. This is a powder eye shadow version of Radium Cream eye shadow. This is a new color.

Snatch: Its a frosty pink with a frost finish. Pat this on top of Maybelline's Cool Effects Cooling Cream Eye color in Pink Frost to get beautiful results. This has been in a palette before but not sure if its in the permanent line or not.

Suspect: Its a very cool bronze with hint of taupe. Looks like something that should have been in the Naked Palette. This is a new color.

Psychedelic Sister: Its a deep purple with slight red undertones, It has a frost finish, Its a Sephora exclusive shade.

    My Thoughts about it:
Personally I am all for colors so this palette was a good buy for me. Its does have a few flaws but its not like they are not fixable. I would have liked it more if it did not have so may fallout issues but overall its a good palette.

    Is this Palette for you?
If you are a fan of UD eye shadows then this BOS palette is good for you but if you are not into shimmery and/or frosty finishes than this might not be your thing.

    My ratings:
    4.9 / 5
    4.7/5

Have you used this Palette? Tell me how it was for you :)
